Insurance policies

A policy is written proof between the insurer and the insured. The policy contains a number of details, such as the date, the insured object or person, the amount of insurance, the policy period, the conditions and the premium amount. Not to mention the signatures; in the early years the policies are signed by the directors personally. As the policy is proof of the insurance, it has to be kept properly. This is one of the reasons why policies are often large and made from special paper. They are beautifully illustrated showpieces, yet another reason to preserve them. Nowadays policies are sent digitally by email. They must be saved, but are no longer the works of art they used to be.

Do you still have an old policy at home?
